Rainbow lake | Minimarg | Gilgit Baltistan

 Rainbow lake is situated in minimarg valley Astor, a beautiful lake surrounded by beautiful lush green meadows. It's a small lake in diameter, but its beauty is fabulous and soul-touching and the green mountains around the lake make it even better, one more beauty is that fresh streams join the lake from nearby mountains, and it looks even more attractive. 


The distance from the main chillum valley check post is almost 15 kilometers, but it takes a long time due to rough roads. 

So you should hire a 4×4 vehicle along with a fully trained driver because the road is not that easy to drive through, secondly, if you are driving the vehicle you can't enjoy the beauty of the place. So if you plan to visit this place you should do complete homework and gather complete information about the minimarg area, it's because the pass (Burzil Pass) which one has to cross, remains closed 7 to 8 months in a year due to heavy snowfall so the best time we suggest you travel to this area is, June, July & August.

After that, this area receives tons of snow so it will not possible to travel to this beautiful heaven on earth. Another important thing is, you should keep your identity with you all the time because you have to face different check posts of the Army and police where you have to prove your identity.

The lake water is Cristal clear and it is famous for trout fishing, the taste of the trout found in this lake is marvelous because they live in a natural environment and freshwater, not like other fish farms in different places.

So despite all these hurdles and travel difficulties, once you reach this area, you feel that time stops, and the efforts were worth it because that is heaven on earth, you will feel that you are not in this world & you have reached somewhere in the heaven.
