Get in


By plane

Lahore or Islamabad Airports are mainly being used to visit Sialkot, Sialkot International Airport is under construction and will be ready by the end of September 2007.


By train

Sialkot Used to be the Junction in British time, but now it is the last station on Pakistan on the Indian Border, Sialkot district is the last city of Punjab to Indian Occupied Kashimr and Indian state of Punjab. Trains from Lahore and Rawalpindi are very frequent throught the day

By car

Unfortunately you cant visit Sialkot via GT Road, it only comes to Gujranwala (if coming from Lahore) and till Wazirabad ( if coming from Islamabad) From there Sialkot Highway starts and gives you a comfortable ride till the city center, From Lahore its about 2 hrs drive while from Islamabad its about 4 hrs,Sialkot-Lahore Motor way is also under construction.


Get around


Tangas

A good way to move around is on "horse & cart" called as "Tanga". It takes you around 1.5Km distance in 15 to 30 minutes and cost only 10 US-cents. So you would have a real chance to see peoples & places around.

Rickshaws

The fastest way to move from one place to other is on "3-wheels motor vehicle", closed with plastic (for pollution & privacy purposes), and called as "Rickshaw". Its also cheap and could take you anywhere around where you wish in the city. It costs around 50 cents (for 1Km) to 4 US$ (5 Km) depending on the distance you travel. Although there is no fixed amount as compare to distance.


Buses

Usually buses are not used in cities, these are used only to travel from one city to other city (or in between districts/villages).

Sialkot is famous for its equipment in the world. Many companies in sialkot manufacture Sporting equipments (all type of balls, accessories, active-wear garments), Leather products (garments, bags, motorbike clothing) and Surgical Instruments(Dental products and other instruments). Most of the work is by hand, see the skills of people in these fields!

Visit Sialkot Chamber of Commerce to see products at one place. Or ask them your interests to visit local manufacturing companies.

Peoples of Sialkot are very friendly to foreigners as many people visit companies for orders of products. Try to be polite and just roam around, You will get a good person to guide you the city without charging any money!

Do not give your any luggage or important thing to anyone..... nor any money to any person. You will find many youths and people to guide you through the city without money so do not trust on anyone who have interest in your money (or asking you for money).

  • Active-wear garments (Track suits, t-shirts, sporting kits & uniforms)
